McAfee® Firewall Blocking Internet Connection
- McAfee Firewall is not configured properly.
- Another Firewall is conflicting with McAfee Firewall.
- Some other networking issue is blocking internet access.
- Double-click the M icon in your taskbar. Click Web and Email Protection. Click the Firewall link.
- In the Firewall options window, click the Turn Off button. McAfee Firewall will confirm that you want to disable the service with a popup message.
- Test your Internet connection.
- If you cannot connect to the internet, turn on the firewall. The problem is with another application or operating system or ISP.
- If you can connect to the internet the problem is with the McAfee Firewall configuration. Go to Step 2.
- You may have created certain rules that are blocking ports or certain applications. So quickest way to find if this is the case is by resetting to default configuration. Note this will erase all custom settings.
- Open the Firewall settings. Click Restore Defaults. The SecurityCenter might prompt you for network or application permissions.
- If you still cannot access the Internet, then maybe there is another Firewall or Security software blocking the internet.
- Go to Step 3.
- Check the list of incompatible third-party applications which must be uninstalled.
- Activate the "Add or Remove Program" control panel applet.
- Search for any conflicting Security Software.
- Proceed to uninstall it by selecting it and then clicking on uninstall.
