McAfee® Firewall Keeps Switching Off
- Certain McAfee Security configuration or setup files maybe corrupted.
- Computer maybe infected by a virus or malicious software.
- McAfee Firewall is being blocked by a third-party antivirus software.
- MVT is an automated self-healing tool provided by McAfee.MVT can diagnose and fix many problems related to your McAfee product.
- Download MVT from http://mvt.mcafee.com. Follow the prompts to install and run MVT.
- If MVT discovers any problems, allow it to repair those problems.
- If your status still shows that Firewall is not on, go to Step 2.
- Restart the computer. Repeatedly press the F8 key on the keyboard until you see the Boot Selection menu. Select the option to boot to Safe Mode (no networking support).
- Allow the computer to completely boot into safe mode, then wait five minutes without activity. Restart the computer normally.
- After the computer boots normally, wait another five minutes, and then check the status of Real-Time Scanning in the main product window.
- If your status still shows that Firewall is not on, go to Step 3.
- Check the list of incompatible third-party applications which must be uninstalled .
- Activate the "Add or Remove Program" control panel applet.
- Search for any conflicting Security Software.
- Proceed to uninstall it by selecting it and then clicking on uninstall.
