Internet Explorer Unresponsive Script Error
- A problem exists in the HTML source code of the webpage.
- Antivirus software may be blocking the Internet Explorer ActiveX or Java scripting engine.
- The scripting engine on your computer is corrupted or outdated.
- Internet-related folders on your computer are corrupted.
- If you have another browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox then try opening the website.
- If you still get the Scripting Error then the problem is the Web Page HTML code. There is nothing you can do about it.
- If you do not get the Scripting Error then the problem is with Internet Explorer settings. Go to Step 2.
- If Active scripting, ActiveX and Java are blocked, it may cause this error.
- You can reset your Internet Explorer security settings to make sure these features are not blocked.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. Click Default Level.
- If the problem still persists go to Step 3.
- If the size of the temporary Internet files folder becomes too large, some display problems may occur when you open webpages.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options. Click the General tab. Under Browsing History, click Delete.
- ActiveX controls and Java programs blocked may result in the script not running or taking too long.
- If you do not have an antivirus software installed then this is not an issue.
- If you do have one installed, you need to check the firewall or security software setting to check if the scripting engine is not being blocked.
