Too Many Pop-Ups with Internet Explorer
- Internet Explorer Pop-Up Blocker not enabled.
- Internet Explorer is infected with a malicious add-on.
- Windows is infected with a Spyware or Malware.
- To enable popup blocking from Microsoft Internet Explorer go to Tools.
- Then Select the Privacy Options in Tools.
- And you will get a selection to block or not block pop-ups.
- Make sure the selection is selected and all pop-ups are blocked.
- If the Pop-Up problem is not fixed go to Step 2.
- While browser add-ons can enhance your online experience, they can occasionally interfere or conflict with other software on your computer.
- Tap or click the Tools button and then tap or click Manage add-ons. Under Show, tap or click All Add-ons and then disable all of them by tapping or clicking each one and then selecting Disable.
- Restart Internet Explorer and test.
- If the pop-up problem is fixed, then the issue is with an installed add-on. Re-enable each add-on one at a time and test to verify what add-on is causing the issue.
- If the problem is not fixed, go to Step 3.
- If you do not have a paid version of Antivirus software, install Microsoft's free version, Microsoft Security Essentials at http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx.
- This is a useful, free program and can detect most commonly found viruses.
- Download and Install it. If you are not familiar with how to Scan using Antivirus software you probably need help from a qualified technician.
